Sections of the Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China was developed over a very long period of time to defend from attackers to the north, and to protect bandits on the way to the Takalamakan Desert frrom Banits, Theives, and Nomads. During the time of war the great wall was up, the 3 sections built by the Yan, Zhao, and Ex-Qin States were all disconnected and easily breached by attackers. In one push to make the great wall a wall he ordered every section connected and any damaged sections restored to working order. The entire wall was made mostly by local resources such as Stone in the higher elevations and mud in the lower plains of china, using this method lowered the time it took to get resources to and from the construction site and overall sped up the process. Today some of the wall still stands, good portions are 4 to 6 meters high and dotted with relics. The Ming Dynasty section is worn away and no longer visible, but the imprint is clearly visible as the northern most point of wall.
